Gabriella final project

https://gabriellagonzales.quarto.pub/gabriella-final-project/

This project is based on the Mixed Beverage Gross Receipts dataset, which is collected by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and published on the Texas Open Data Portal, which uses the Socrata service. It captures monthly alcohol sales data across establishments, categorized by Total Receipts, Wine Receipts, Beer Receipts, Liquor Receipts, and Cover Charge Receipts. Each row represents monthly sales for a specific location. It includes variables detailing taxpayer (owner) and location (establishment) information and allows for trend analysis by location, type of alcohol and geographical area.

Summary

I plan to explore seasonal and monthly sales fluctuations in alcohol sales over the last five years in Austin neighborhoods. I will analyze how alcohol sales change through the year, how these changes correlate with seasonal factors and which neighborhoods are affected by these fluctuations. This analysis will also examine how major events throughout the years, like SXSW and ACL impact sales across neighborhoods. To further this analysis, I will break down sales by alcohol type and identify if any drive more revenue in different areas and seasons.
